Ramana is a Tamilfilm actor in Chennai, India. He has appeared in Tamil films in leading and supporting roles. He is the son of Telugu actor Vijay Babu who is well known for the role of Rajinikanth's younger brother in Padikkadavan. He is the wicket keeper for the team Chennai Rhinos in Celebrity Cricket League.

Ramana penned a series of film scripts featuring serious off-beat stories and approached producers with little luck, hoping to land an offer. After failing to establish himself as a director who could be funded to make films with serious themes, he felt that he should make a series of commercially viable films in the masala genre before diversifying into serious subjects. Ramana's first release was Thirumalai (2003), an action-masala venture featuring Vijay, which took a large opening at the box office and performed well commercially. Despite receiving several offers to remake the film in Telugu, he chose to make Sullan (2004), another action film featuring Dhanush in the title role failed at the box office.His next,Aadhi(2006) an action-masala venture featuring Vijay,took a large opening at the box office and performed well commercially.
Saikumar produced the film. has stepped in to monitor the production activities of ‘Garam’ Starring his son Aadi in the lead role & the film is directed by Madan (film director) which is currently in post-production. Writer Sreenivas Gavireddy penned the film’s script.
